I think it was 1997. A bunch of people had gathered at my friend Jens's place. We were sitting on his living-room floor, talking about life, the universe and everything. It was getting late.

Suddenly Jens said "Oh, and by the way Martin, I know what you'll look like when you're older".

He fetched a news clipping from his jacket. There were two pictures of Harrison Ford on it; a recent one, and one from his high school years. Apparently, the argument was based on the picture of the young Ford looking very much like me.

Anyway, we passed the photo around. We compared it to the photo on my CS pass card. There was a resemblance. We laughed. Someone suggested I should put it on my home page, so Jens gave me the news clipping. Then we forgot about it and talked about other things.

I guess it could have been worse. It could have been a picture of Bill Gates, or something.

Now on the other hand, the purpose of the article was to point out what a dork Harrison was during his high school years.

So although I can't rule out the possibility that I might look like Harrison Ford in a couple of years, a perhaps more realistic conclusion is that I look like a loser now.
